You will act as a key technical resource within a high-performing title team, ensuring that every transaction is backed by an accurate and clear legal status.
Key Responsibilities
-
Conduct in-depth analysis of title commitments and complex entity documents (Trusts, LLCs, Partnerships) to determine legal condition.
-
Research and summarize recorded instruments—including deeds, mortgages, liens, and easements—to establish a clear chain of ownership.
-
Prepare and issue updated commitments, supplemental reports, and final title policies with a high degree of precision.
- Manage "date down " procedures to capture the most current property data, ensuring no new encumbrances have surfaced prior to closing.
- Identify and help resolve title defects, such as delinquent taxes, judgments, or boundary discrepancies, by collaborating with underwriters and legal teams.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years in the title industry; candidates with Commercial or Industrial experience will be prioritized.
- Proficiency in AIM+, Data Trace, and Data Tree is highly desired.
- Deep understanding of legal descriptions, lien priority, and property law terminology.
- Ability to interpret complex maps, plat books, and land-use restrictions across multiple jurisdictions.
- High School Diploma required; paralegal or legal coursework is a plus.
