Commercial Title Examiner – Remote (Texas)
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Title Examiner to join a well-established and growing title company. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates residing in Texas who have a strong background in examining complex commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in Texas title standards, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Review and examine commercial real estate title orders to determine ownership, legal descriptions, and any encumbrances or restrictions affecting the property
• Analyze public records including deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, tax records, easements, and plats
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive title commitments in accordance with company guidelines and Texas regulations
• Identify title defects, clouds, or issues and provide requirements needed to clear title
• Work closely with escrow officers, underwriters, attorneys, and clients to resolve title issues and ensure smooth closings
• Interpret complex legal documents and summarize findings clearly within title reports
• Ensure compliance with state, underwriter, and company policies and procedures
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while managing multiple files and deadlines
• Utilize title production software and online research tools to complete examinations efficiently
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3+ years of commercial title examining experience
• Strong knowledge of Texas title insurance practices, regulations, and examination standards
• Experience examining complex commercial transactions such as multi-site properties, subdivisions, and large acreage tracts preferred
• Ability to read and interpret surveys, legal descriptions, and title chains
• Familiarity with Softpro is preferred
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity goals
