Position Purpose:
To ensure compliance with the guidelines of the integrated system of Food Safety, Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection. The person in this position will be responsible for the management and follow up of the calibration and control systems program, providing technical support to the manufacturing area in processes related to instrumentation, automation and continuous improvement of industrial equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the automation technical team in their operational functions.
- Provide specialized support to manufacturing personnel to solve problems in automated systems.
- Maintain and update control and automation systems (PLC, HMI, sensors, drives, servomotors, among others).
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety protocols, health and industrial hygiene and environmental practices.
- Manage technical documentation, including electrical diagrams and schematics of electrical distribution systems.
- Manage the equipment calibration program according to applicable quality standards and regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, etc.).
- Ensure that instruments and measurement systems are maintained within the parameters established by the company.
- Implement technical solutions for the optimization of production processes.
- Coordinate with maintenance and manufacturing the required internal and external calibrations.
- Participate in the development and execution of projects related to control, electricity and automation.
- Evaluate and recommend components, equipment or spare parts related to automated systems.
- Maintain up-to-date calibration system database and records.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control diagrams and technical documentation.
- Assume any other function related to the role according to operational need.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Controls or equivalent experience in automation and instrumentation.
- Minimum three (3) years in similar functions in industrial environments, preferably in regulated companies.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems and PID controls, analytical and process instrumentation, quality and safety regulations applicable to the manufacturing sector.
- Experience with PLC programming software and HMI systems.
