We are seeking a driven and well-qualified attorney to join a respected and established firm's Workers' Compensation team. With over four decades of excellence and a proven track record of helping thousands of injured individuals, the firm is eager to welcome a new member to its dynamic and collaborative workers' compensation division.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough initial case evaluations and formulate effective case strategies

Manage a caseload of 150 250 workers' compensation cases efficiently and profitably

Review and analyze records, reports, and other relevant documentation

Delegate, assign, and supervise the work of paralegals, case managers, legal assistants, and other supporting staff

Execute effective discovery processes to gather necessary evidence for litigation
-
Interpret and assess medical records and legal reports, applying American Medical Association Guides to Permanent Disability (5th Edition) to determine case value and prepare settlement demands

Negotiate settlements and provide clients with informed legal recommendations

Represent clients in depositions, hearings, expert witness depositions, trials, and appellate proceedings

Draft comprehensive legal documents, including settlements, trial briefs, appellate briefs, petitions, and letters

Drive cases toward resolution, managing a docket of workers' compensation matters

Maintain professional and effective communication with all stakeholders
-
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Deposition Duties:

Prepare clients for depositions
-
Attend and participate in depositions
-
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for depositions
Mentorship and Support:
-
Assist associates with questions on settlements, legal issues, and case management systems
-
Offer guidance on cases requiring advanced negotiation
-
Respond to client concerns and drive cases toward resolution
-
Provide support and direction to non-attorney team members
-
Participate in trials and hearings as needed
-
Help navigate challenging client interactions

Qualifications We Seek:

At least 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation (preferred)

Trial experience is advantageous
-
Active membership in a State Bar (in good standing) or awaiting Bar results

Valid California Driver's License
