Tool & Die Maker

General Objective
Perform metal fabrication functions (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Galvanized, etc.) using mechanical and/or digital gauges. Respond to requests for repair, correction and/or modification of parts to ensure optimal operation of equipment, complying with established quality, food safety, environmental, health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform fabrication of parts in various metal materials, including aluminum, stainless steel and galvanized.
  • Use mechanical and/or digital gauges to ensure accuracy of part dimensions and finishes.
  • Follow instructions and technical procedures for the manufacture of parts.
  • Respond to requests for repair, correction and/or modification of equipment parts to optimize performance.
  • Diagnose failures and determine the appropriate technical solution for each case.
  • Perform repairs and modifications of parts accurately and efficiently, following established procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on utilities, following the directions of the Utilities Leader.
  • Inspect and verify the condition of parts and equipment to detect possible wear or damage.
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions to prevent failures and prolong equipment life.
  • Ensure that spare parts are available in inventory.
  • Reorder used spare parts to maintain an adequate stock.
  • Keep your work area clean, organized and safe.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards.
  • Immediately report any accident or incident that may cause risk to personnel, equipment or facilities.
  • Adhere to Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, including quality, food safety, environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Comply with the policies, procedures and processes established by the company.
  • Apply their knowledge and experience to identify opportunities for improvement in safety and work environment.
  • Suggest improvement proposals to optimize manufacturing and maintenance processes.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Ability to interpret documents, regulations, blueprints and/or schematics in basic English.
  • Ability to apply the principles of mechanics and mathematics in the fabrication of parts.

Requirements:
  • Minimum experience of five years or more in the beverage packaging industry or similar manufacturing.
  • Associates Degree in Tool Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification or experience as a Tool & Die Maker.
  • Certification or experience as a Lathe Operator.
  • Basic welding knowledge.
  • Knowledge in the operation of lathes, milling and grinding machines, including numerical controls.
  • Knowledge in the use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge in blueprint reading and preparation of schematic drawings.
