Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Card & Payments Specialist responsible for providing exceptional support to members, branches, and other departments. The role includes processing share draft exceptions, returned deposits, and managing negative balances. Additionally, the specialist will handle risk management, ATM/debit/credit card processing, fraud claims, ACH exceptions, levies, and web bill pay maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process share draft exceptions, returned deposits, and negative balances.
- Manage risk by identifying suspicious accounts and recommending closures.
- Handle ATM, debit & credit card capture, reorders, file maintenance, and disputes.
- Process ACH exceptions, stop payments, revocations, levies, and reclamations.
- Maintain web bill pay services.
- Address member inquiries and provide phone support.
Dimensions:
- Support: 26 branches and corporate HQ, 65,000 members, 2,000 monthly calls.
- Operations: Risk management, card transactions, ACH processing, 60,000 monthly items.
Reporting:
- Reports to: Manager or Supervisor of Card/Payment Services.
- No direct reports.
Education, Skills, & Abilities:
- High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience in credit union or bank processing preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attention to detail with an understanding of debits and credits.
- Excellent verbal communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Major Accountabilities:
- Handle high volumes of phone calls.
- Post loan payments and deposits.
- Process returned mail and maintain card files.
- Respond to web bill pay inquiries and verify card transactions.
- Troubleshoot card issues and process ACH exceptions.
- Manage levies and reclamations.
