Job Summary:

Our title company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residential or Commercial Title Examiner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for examining and analyzing commercial or residential real estate titles and supporting our title agents with various real estate transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine and analyze commercial or residential real estate titles, identifying and resolving any issues related to ownership, liens, judgments, and other encumbrances.
  • Review and interpret legal descriptions, surveys, and other relevant documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of title information.
  • Prepare title commitments and other relevant reports, summarizing findings and providing recommendations for title insurance coverage.
  • Work with title agents, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders to coordinate closings and ensure that all documentation and funding requirements are met.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support title underwriting decisions, including reviewing zoning and land use restrictions, environmental reports, and other relevant data.
  • Maintain and update client files and databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to title matters.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Residential or Commercial Title Examiner, with a strong understanding of commercial real estate titles and related documentation.
  • Knowledge of title insurance underwriting standards and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve title issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
