As a Dental Assistant, you will play Our fast-paced Morris County Specialty office is looking for a Full Time Dental Assistant. Must work well with a Team. An X-ray License is a must. Computer Savvy. Familiar with Dexis, Dentrix or TDO, and CBCT. Our office has a friendly, fun, flexible environment! If you feel that you meet the following criteria

A Dental Assistant performs many tasks including taking X-rays and assisting the Specialist with patients. Dental Assistants prep materials for the Specialist to use during procedures. Dental Assistants also help ensure dental procedures go smoothly and patients are comfortable.

Duties and responsibilities of the Dental Assistant include:

Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
Taking and processing X-rays of patients
The successful candidate for the Dental Assistant will possess the following skills and qualifications:

Knowledge of dentistry, particularly dental procedures, instruments and hygiene
Experience administering dental X-rays
Customer service and communication skills to ensure patients feel comfortable during appointments
Organizational and multi-tasking skills, general office aptitude
Computer Savvy

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9AM -6PM Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring the efficient operation of the clinic. You will assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures and perform various administrative tasks to enhance the patient experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for oral healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment room, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist.
  • Take and process dental x-rays, impressions, and other diagnostic images.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide chairside assistance to dentists during examinations and treatments, including suctioning, retracting tissues, and providing oral hygiene instructions to patients.
  • Record patient information and treatment plans in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and greet patients upon arrival.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disinfecting surfaces and equipment.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as processing payments, verifying insurance coverage, and filing patient records.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a dental assistant training program or relevant experience preferred.
  • X-ray certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using dental software and electronic health records systems.
  • Current CPR certification is a plus.
